This chain mail standard is simple, yet effective; a band of chain mail and leather that protects the neck, particularly from cutting and slashing strikes. Much of the chain mail has been stitched in place to the leather and the chain mail links are dome-riveted mild steel round rings links that alternate with solid flat rings.

The combination of chain mail with a leather backing gives good protection for the neck – a standard is an easy add-on to gain a fuller degree of protection from chain mail armor.
