The so-called Lorica Hamata was the typical chain armor of the Roman legionary. One of its particularly characteristic features was the shoulder doubling.

We hereby offer this shoulder doubling separately and thus enable you to convert our RM chainmails to a Roman legionary’s chain armour.

The delivery includes the pictured buttons, hooks and rivets made of brass, as well as the sewed-on leather border. The leather is vegetable tanned.

The RM chain maille type is composed of small rings with an inner diameter of 6 mm only. As per original finds, it is woven with alternate rows of riveted round rings (domed rivet heads) and punched flat rings.
