Description
This Roman Phalerae harness has large medallions of brass screwed onto bands of thick leather. It is adjusted to fit and buckled in the back with a set of leather straps and brass buckles.
Phalerae medals were awarded to Roman soldiers who distinguished themselves and one who amassed enough to warrant a full chest harness would have been a highly respected soldier – likely the Centurion or the standard bearer of a cohort.
